The U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots is a not-for-profit charity that spends every October, November, and December collecting new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children. Monetary donations, like the $500 donation generously provided by Dr. Shaista Najmi of Ivory Dental this past holiday season, are also accepted so the charity is able to supply children in need with a bright Christmas.
“I donated to help the children who have less. The delight of opening a gift on Christmas morning is something that every child should be able to experience, no matter their age, no matter their family’s station in life,” says Dr. Najmi.
The message behind Toys for Tots is not only to provide children without toys with the opportunity to embrace playful joy on Christmas Day, but to unite communities in a common cause and, as a result, build stronger and better citizens and communities. Toys for Tots activities are held throughout the year, including bicycle races, golf tournaments, foot races, and other voluntary events – all held with the intention of increasing awareness of an interest in Toys for Tots and the charity’s honorable goals.
